Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--6.2; BamHI--6.2; HindIII--6.2. This vector contains the following unique restriction sites: ClaI, EcoRV, StyI, ScaI and AatII. Useful for in vitro mutagenesis experiments. Encodes the beta-galactosidase alpha peptide, permitting blue-white visual detection. Can be used to produce ssDNA. Contains promoters for in vitro RNA synthesis and priming sites useful for sequencing. Contains an inactive ampicillin resistance gene which can be reverted to functional expression by a repair oligonucleotide. |
